Abstract
Chapter 1 is an introduction to the project, containing information about the current state of the church and providing rationale for the project. Included are the ministry context and demographic information of the Maywood community. The goals
of the project and the methodology are also provided.
Chapter 2 establishes the biblical basis for the project. The basis for the project centers on the Great Commission to “Go and make disciples,” as found in Matthew 28:19-20. The over-arching theme of Scripture is God’s redemption of mankind for His
glory. Both Old and New Testaments provide the foundation for God’s mission as it is accomplished through Christ.
Chapter 3 provides the current methods and changes that effective leaders and churches are making in order to develop an outward focused ministry to their community. The intent is to show that adapting a new church culture is necessary in most cases in order to reach their community with the gospel.
Chapter 4 gives the details of the project along with the implementation of the goals of the project. The goals of the project work together to foster an outward focused church that is compelled to share the gospel with its immediate community.
Chapter 5 evaluates the effects of the project in determining whether or not Maywood understands its vision, mission, and the gospel message. It identifies ways that Maywood will work toward fulfilling the Great Commission both personally and
corporately.
