Abstract
This thesis examines the impact of globalization on culture and worldview. Chapter 1 defines globalization and traces its history. Chapter 2 observes the human agents who affect change on a global scale. Chapter 3 shows how globalization modifies culture and worldview, considering the impact on identities and specific examples of societal change.
Chapter 4 examines key philosophers and ideas underlying globalization-fed worldview and cultural changes. Chapter 5 looks at consumerism as the defining characteristic of global culture. Chapter 6 discusses the media as transmitter of new philosophies and shaper of culture in an image-oriented era.
Chapter 7 explores the negative consequences as well as positive potential globalization brings. The chapter notes the meaningful role Christians can play through awareness and action.
