Abstract
The purpose of this project was to lead the families of New Work Fellowship, Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to develop a rhythm of work and rest in their lives as a result of a biblical understanding and practice of Sabbath rest. Chapter 1 defines the goals of the project, ministry context, rationale, definitions, limitations, delimitations, and research methodology. Chapter 2 defines the biblical model of Sabbath rest by exploring Genesis 1:1-2:3, Exodus 16, Acts 15, Hebrews 4. Chapter 3 explores the cultural need for Sabbath rest and the results of a life lived with the absence Sabbath rest. Chapter 4 describes the process by which the project was implemented. Chapter 5 records the results of the project that consisted of a four-week sermon series and an eight-week small group study on Sabbath rest.
