Should Women Speak in Mixed Public Assemblies?
Description
This pamphlet reprints two articles by John A. Broadus: "Should Women Speak in Mixed Public Assemblies?" (pages 1-9) and "About Women Speaking to Mixed Assemblies" (pages 9-15). The Western Recorder (editor T. T. Eaton) previously printed both of these Broadus articles on the first page of the January 10, 1889 issue. A solicitation on the penultimate page notes that John William Porter (president of Baptist Book Concern) was also editor of the Western Recorder at the time of this pamphlet's publication, placing its probable date sometime between 1909-1921. This pamphlet is a reprint of a previous version published in 1890 by Baptist Book Concern. The pamphlet was reprinted again in Porter's edited volume "Feminism: Woman and Her Work" (1923).
