ABSTRACT PLANTING SMALL GROUP BIBLE STUDIES IN MULTI-HOUSING COMMUNITIES NEAR FLORENCE BAPTIST CHURCH, FLORENCE, KENTUCKY Benjamin Clayton Brown, D.Min. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2013 Faculty Supervisor: Dr. Travis S. Kerns Planting small group Bible studies in multi-housing communities focused on mobilizing Florence Baptist Church to reach White Pine with the gospel. Chapter 1 explained the purpose, goals, context of the church, context of the community, and rationale for the project. Chapter 2 gave biblical and theological support for planting small groups in White Pine. Biblical passages used were Matthew 9:36-38, Romans 1:16, Romans 10:13-17, 2 Timothy 2:2, and multiple texts from the book of Acts. Chapter 3 researched different models, examples, and principles for small groups. Chapter 4 was a week-by-week explanation of the fifteen-week project. Chapter 5 offered the strengths, weaknesses, and reflections from the project. The fifteen-week project was an initial step for church planting in the future.
