The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2018 Faculty Supervisor: Dr. Michael E. Pohlman This project encompasses the development of student ministry interns at Applewood Baptist Church in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, to faithfully preach Old Testament historical narratives. Chapter 1 presents the purpose of the project as well as the three goals of the project. It also describes the history and context of the student ministry of Applewood Baptist church and the rationale behind the project. Chapter 2 provides the biblical and theological justification for a preacher to employ a redemptive-historical hermeneutic in order to properly exegete and preach Old Testament historical narratives. Chapter 3 addresses the theoretical/practical/historical issues related to employing a redemptive-historical hermeneutic toward Old Testament historical narratives. Chapter 4 includes the curriculum and implementation of the project. Chapter 5 provides an evaluation of the project, its effectiveness, its strengths, and its weaknesses.en_US
