dc.description.abstractABSTRACT EQUIPPING PARENTS OF OAK HILL BAPTIST CHURCH IN SOMERSET, KENTUCKY, TO DISCIPLE THEIR CHILDREN Jonas Allen Larkin, DEdMin The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2020 Faculty Supervisor: Dr. Timothy Paul Jones The purpose of this project was to transition the student ministry of Oak Hill Baptist Church in Somerset, Kentucky, to a family-equipping model by equipping parents to disciple their children. Chapter 1 provides the context for the ministry project, as well as project goals and research methodology. Chapter 2 contains biblical and theological support for the project by examining Ephesians 4:11-16 and implications from this passage that pertain to equipping parents to disciple their children. Chapter 3 contains practical considerations for how and why churches must equip parents to fulfill their role as the primary disciple-makers of their children. Chapter 4 is an overview of the implementation phase of the project, including summaries of the planning, design, promotion, and implementation of the project. Chapter 5 is an evaluation of the project, including theological and personal reflections as well as commentary on how the project will be leveraged moving forward.en_US
