The purpose of this project was to increase the spiritual maturity of the JIBC survey population through participation in adult small group discipleship. In chapter one, I introduced the context of city churches and some of the unique difficulties that they face regarding their members measurable spiritual maturity. In chapter two, I outlined the theological basis which is found in Ephesians 4:10-16 as well as in the “one another” teachings of the New Testament. Chapter three explained how church-led small group discipleship is effective and the importance of understanding the cultural context of city-dwellers. In chapter four, I explained the teaching details of the project with thumbnails of the sermon and curriculum series. Chapter five demonstrated through the surveys that the premise of the project was statistically valid. I evaluated the strengths and the weaknesses and what could be done to improve the project concluding with personal and theological reflections.en_US
