dc.description.abstract | This project seeks to equip members of Mount Olive Baptist Church in Molena, Georgia, to increase the practice of foundational personal spiritual disciplines. Chapter 1 presents the history and ministry context of Mount Olive and the goals of this project. Chapter 2 provides exegesis of three passages of Scripture (Matt 28:19–20; 1 Tim 4:6–16; 2 Tim 3:16–17) to show that every Christian has the responsibility to practice the biblical spiritual disciplines in a manner that encourages and prepares them to grow in faithfulness to the Great Commission. Chapter 3 presents a historical and practical overview of the personal spiritual disciplines to encourage believers to understand and practice them in their own personal walk with Christ. Chapter 4 describes the project itself, recounting the content and teaching methodology of the specific course curriculum. Chapter 5 evaluates the efficacy of the project based on completion of the specified goals. Ultimately, this project seeks to equip Christians with the confidence and competency to grow in faithfulness as Great Commission Christians. | en_US |
